It is not new to mothers and most parents of new born that babies cry a lot and most of the time they cry so loud that it becomes so hard for you to identify the reason.
Here are 11 common reasons that make your baby cry so much:
- Soaked diaper: one of the common reason for your baby crying so much is when the diaper has become soaked and dirty which may cause irritation to the skin of the baby. If this is not attended to in time, the baby can develop rashes.
- Stomach problems: the frequent crying of your baby that may seem not easy to console may be as a result of a stomach upset that is not known to you the parent. If the crying extends for hours, please consult a paediatrician.

- Hunger: babies cannot communicate directly when they are hungry and need food but when they are in need of food they cry just to inform the mother that they really need food.
- The need to be cuddled: a baby may cry just because he or she wants to be held. Sometimes, they are scared of being left on their own. So, when your baby cries, you can cuddle the baby to give that baby the assurance that you are around.
- Too hot or too cold weather: when the weather around the baby is not convenient the baby may start crying. So, when your baby starts crying, you can check the body temperature for too much heat or cover up if there is too much cold.
- Pain that cannot be noticed: your baby may be crying without stopping when there is pain somewhere in the body that you the parent cannot easily notice. Try to check the body of the baby when he or she is crying by pressing gently to find the area of the pain.
- Teething: when your baby starts growing teeth, it comes with a lot of pain and temperature and the baby can start crying because of not being able to bear the pain. Consult your doctor for prescriptions for drugs that can soothe the teething.
- Fever: when your baby is sick with fever, the crying may be on the increase because of the uneasiness the baby feels at that moment. to check your baby for fever, you can check the temperature of the baby. If the temperature is abnormal, consult your doctor.
- Injection pain: after receiving an injection, your baby can react by crying much. This is because the pain from the injection is really affecting the baby. You can check the point of the injection to see how you can relieve the baby of the pain.
