Chelsea Reaches The Quarter Finals Of FA Cup After Victory Over Wolverhampton
Diego Costa did the magic for Chelsea football cup by capping an epic performance for Chelsea with their second goal in the FA cup.
Diego Costa capped the classic performance leading the line for his team against an uncompromising defence by attacking on a loose ball in the 89th minute and drilling a second past Carl Ikeme in the Wolves goal. They had to fight all the way against a Wolves team who never gave an inch but were eventually overwhelmed by the quality of the Premier League leaders, and there will be no shame in that.
The FA Cup fifth round tie at the Molineux Stadium was a classic as the hosts matched the former Premier League champions in every department and would have taken the lead as early as the 5th minute when George Saville hit the wood work.
The first 45 minutes for both teams was a midfield affair with both striving to pull a goal but all to no avail
Chelsea ran riot right from the start of the second half and were obviously the better side before the home side crumbled in the 65th minute when Pedro headed home from close-range.
Meanwhile, the most surprising result of the day came from Lincoln FC which knocked out Premier League side Burnley out of the competition.
The outcome of the game was in the favour of Chelsea FC.
