If you are ripe enough for marriage and trusting the Lord to bring the right person your way. You don’t have to be idle or else you may waste your destiny in the process. You must be busy doing something worthwhile with your life. In fact, you can meet your own life partner in the process of doing this.

Develop Yourself. Don’t wait for marriage, let marriage wait for you, so develop yourself. Go back to school, get the best education, enroll for that professional course, go for your Masters, learn that trade, go for that training, work on yourself and become better. Nobody wants to marry a liability, be an asset, be a better person.
Be in the Service of God. The best way to live your youthful and the period of being single is to be in the service of God, to serve God and to make Him happy. You must never be useless in the house of your father. If you are not a worker in the house of God, you will end up as a worker of iniquity. You can be in the prayer band, choir, evangelism, drama, mission, counseling, visitation, welfare, Bible study department, etc By all means, get busy for the Lord.
Be in the Youth Department. No matter your age, in as much as you are single; don’t abandon the youth department of your church. Be part of them, if you want to enjoy God and his presence. Most singles who are advanced in age abstain from fellowship with the youths in their church, this is wrong. You can even meet your own partner in the course of fellowshipping with other youth and singles. If singles must marry, they must mingle.
Right Association. Walk in the company of good people. If you associate with wrong people, you may end up marrying one of them. The truth is, your spouse will come from your circle of your friends.
Purpose before Partner. Who are you? Why are you here? What is your purpose? Self-discovery is said to be the best discovery. You need to discover yourself and make the most of it. You should not live as a substitute, you can’t work all your life in somebody else “farm”, but you can’t afford to be in the shadow. Learn how to Make Money. Marriage needs money. You can’t steal it, you can’t beg for it; you need to learn to work for it. There is dignity in diligence so get working.
Learn how to Manage Money. Making money is not what really matter, but cultivating the ability to manage it. Learn how to manage money, if your desire is to have a prosperous family.
Prepare Yourself for Marriage. Prepare yourself physically, mentally, socially, spiritually, and financially for marriage. Get yourself ready, learn and become better.
Improve about Marriage. Learn about marriage. Read books, listen to tapes and watch videos about marriage. Attend marriage programmes, go for counsel, walk in the company of good people and have a marriage mentor.
Dress Rightly. Dress to attract the right partner. Be decent, be godly and always remember that the way you dress is the way people will address you. Be wise.
Keep on Praying. Be aggressive in prayer. Be prayerful, spend hours on your knees. Pray about your future in general.
Be a Lover of the Bible. Be a Bible student. Spend time with the word of God, it will make your life better.
Work on your Character. Anybody you will marry will likely marry you because of your charisma, beauty, gifts, etc. But the truth is; the person will live with your character, not your charisma. If enjoying marriage is your aim, then work on your character as you wait for marriage. Deal with anger, pride, stinginess, laziness, oversleeping, lying, stubbornness, extravagance, prayerlessness, lust, self-centeredness, rigidity, wickedness, etc. All these can easily destroy your life and your marriage. Stand against these negative attitudes; break their strongholds upon your life. Pray seriously about them and be victorious. Become a brand new person, somebody whose partner will say tomorrow, “Thank God I married you”.
