Bishop of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Umuahia West Diocese, Bishop Babatunde Taiwo, has revealed major impediments to the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dr. Taiwo who was speaking at the 8th Annual Synod held at Ebenezer Methodist Church, Ogbodiukwu Umuopara Circuit in Umuahia West, listed obstacles like his health, his alleged love for cattle herdsmen and his romance with looters in APC who defected from PDP as well as his position against Igbo and Christians.

He also enumerated issues like security, power failure and artificial fuel scarcity across the nation during Christmas/New Year would also affect negatively his dream of returning to the seat of power.

Dr. Taiwo noted that in the last one-year, Nigeria had been bedevilled with many troubles ranging from instability, inconsistency in policy, kidnapping of girls, agitation of state to Biafra, herdsmen killings, recall of senators to incessant trips of the President to United Kingdom for medical treatment.

“Our land is full of bloodshed by various organizations such as Boko Haram insurgents, Fulani herdsmen, kidnappers, ritualists etc.

“The government at various levels give reasons for their inability to protect lives and property, the battle ground between PDP and APC remains deep with allegation of looters of country funds yet they work freely in our states and were celebrated.”

Speaking at the eight annual diocesan synod with theme, “Strive for peace and holiness,” the bishop remarks that the occasion calls for celebration pointing out that it was a period where issues bothering entire diocese of the church are deliberated aimed at paving way for the growth of the church.

He said the period of the synod offered the church an opportunity to reflect on evangelization, maintaining that as a tradition, every Methodist member is expected to carry out evangelism.
