Ibrahim Idris, A 23-year-old Arabic teacher, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling three sisters of the same parents on Tuesday 22nd August 2017.
The accused who resides at 2, Kelani Street, Adealu Bus Stop in Dopemu, Lagos is facing a charge of defilement.
According to the Nation report, The Prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu told the court that the sisters from ages 7 to 12 years were defiled by the teacher from May to August 2017 at the residence of the accused when they went to attend lessons.
He explained: “The parents did not know that the accused was sexually molesting their daughters until they relocated to another area and needed to change their Arabic school.”
“The smallest of the girl told the mother that they didn’t want another uncle to be teaching them.”
The Prosecutor added that after the mother heard what the little girl said she asked her questions and it was revealed what the teacher did to them.
He said: “The case was reported at the police station and the accused was arrested.”
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence which contravened section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned until Sept. 11 for further hearing.
