27-Year-Old Man Kills Stepfather with Sword, See Shocking Reason
Yevgeny Semersky is accused of killing 53-year-old Yuri Kosher following a fight between the two in their home in the northern city of Yokne’am.
The Northern District Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against the defendant and requested that he remain in detention until the end of the legal proceedings.
According to the indictment, Semersky, Kosher, and Semersky’s mother celebrated International Women’s Day together on March 8 with champagne. At some point, Semersky left the two and went to his bedroom.
Prosecutors say that later, Kosher told him to turn down the volume of his music and a fight ensued.
Semersky allegedly took a samurai sword from his room, with a 36.6-centimeter (14.5 inch) blade, and stabbed his stepfather twice in the chest, killing him.
Numerous bruises and cuts were found on Kosher’s body and the defendant was injured around his mouth during the fight.
After the stabbing, the defendant is said to have asked his mother to call an ambulance and tried on his own to stem the heavy flow of blood from his stepfather.
Investigators at the scene found a kitchen knife that had been cleaned and two swords in the defendant’s bedroom, one of which was broken.
The investigation also found that Semersky and Kosher would often drink together, which would occasionally result in shouting and violence.
