At least four persons have been reported dead after some gunmen invaded a Hausa community in Asaba, the Delta State capital on the night of Friday, 15th September 2017.
The gunmen killed three men and a woman as they shot sporadically at the settlement of the Hausa/Fulanis. The attack occurred within the Asaba metropolis at the Abraka market around 10 pm.
According to Vanguard reports, the gunmen also threw a bomb but a brave Hausa man interrupted the bomb explosion by throwing it into the river early enough.

A source at the scene told reporters that they were rescued by soldiers and policemen who chased the suspected invaders away.
According to the source, the corpse of those who lost their lives has been deposited at the mortuary and those that were injured were taken by the security agents to the hospital.
However, security operatives have been deployed at the various settlements of IPOB and the Biafra agitators.

The area where the attack took place is very close to River Niger which is the boundary between Delta state and South-eastern states.
