33-Year-Old Soldier Bags 3 Years Imprisonment, See His Offence
A 33-year-old Soldier has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for an attempt to rape a 12-year-old girl at Inkomo Barracks, Zimbabwe.

The soldier, Albert Nyamapfeni, was initially charged with raping his neighbour’s 12-year-old daughter but he was however later found guilty of a lesser offence of attempted rape.
According to the court hearing, the 12-year-old girl was sent to Nyamapfeni’s house to borrow some tomatoes but the wife told her to come back later as she was in a hurry to go to church.
When the girl went about an hour later, the Soldier was said to have grabbed the young girl roughly and also undressed her but she later escaped and ran back to her house.
Albert Nyamapfeni was caught by members of the community who later handed him over to the Police.
Harare magistrate, Lucy Mungwari, sentenced Nyamapfeni to a three-year effective jail term for the offence of attempted rape.
