A 33-year-old Japanese woman, Airi Kakimoto died after being locked up by her biological parents since she was a teenager.

The 33-year-old woman who died weighing just 19 kg has been put in captivity by her own parents in a 3 sq m (32 sq ft) shed where she had lived since being a teenager.
According to Japanese police, Airi Kakimoto was found frozen to death and reports has it that she was malnourished.
Her parents were said to have reported her death some weeks after she actually died. Airi Kakimoto’s parents told the police that they locked her up in the shed for over 15 years because she was mentally ill and was violent.
