About five people have been killed and another five injured as a gas explosion occurred in Ajara Vevho area of Badagry, Lagos State.

The gas exploded while goods were offloaded into a gas shop. Reports have it that the explosion may have occurred from a phone that rang during the offloading.
According to Tribune, The director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rassak Fadipe, confirmed the incident adding that firefighters from Badagry fire station and neighbouring stations were still trying to put out the fire as at the time of the report.
Those who lost their lives at the scene of the explosion were identified as apprentices at a nearby hair salon and a commercial motorcyclist standing in front of the gas shop.
