5 Reason why some relationships have lasted forever

Long-lasting Relationships these days feel like a hoax, it feels like a mere dream or purpose that will never work. Young people these days might not be able to grasp how much effort it takes to make a relationship last.

Why does it seem like some relationships last forever, why others don’t even last for days?

5 reasons why some relationships last forever.

 

1. Get over the fights:

There are no perfect relationships, every relationship has encountered some fights or another depending on how serious the reason is like; cheating or how minor it is like; how you handle the toothpaste tube.

Since you’re two different people, at some point when the pressure is extreme, both sides will explode. This is a fact about relationships and life at large.

If you really care about that person, you must be ready to get over the fights and move on with your love life. Fights in a relationship allow both parties to understand each other and afterwards learn one or two new things about each other and get better.

You mustn’t hold grudges toward one another because that’s a sign of a very toxic relationship and it isn’t something you want to do if you want your relationship to last.

2. Make Adjustments:

You simply cannot possess all the required qualities that your partner desires from you or the relationship, but there’s a way and manner to get past this; you must adjust to his/her lifestyle.

Ask much as relationships are about love, it’s also about sacrifice and how much you’re willing to bend in order to accommodate the other person in your life.

If you care about your partner, taking this step should come easy to you. The things he/she enjoys like; food, hobbies and movies should be put into consideration.

Sometimes religious beliefs might become a hindrance, but if you have the ability to make those necessary adjustments, then your relationship would go far.

3. Let the Wonders never end:

The Webster dictionary refers to wonders as an “astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one’s experience.” 

As much as people try to refute it, we all love to be surprised with a wonderful gesture from others especially someone that we love with the bottom of our hearts.

So if you’re to keep the fire of your love burning you have to keep the wonders going, never let it cease.

Once in a while, you can surprise her with small gifts or performances that will cheer him/her up even in your absence. Surprise him with some of his favourite console games or favourite football team jersey.

Send her nice gifts to her office during the day or on your way back home, make her favourite meal, do the chores before she gets home and so on. You will be shocked at how much WONDER and magic you can create in their lives.

4. Cheap thrills = invaluable moments:

In a world where it seems like money is everything, most people have been able to sustain a love life no other in the midst of all the chaos and inflation going on around the world.

Cheap thrills basically refers to minor things done for entertainment. 

You can both;

• Attend a free concert
• Watch a TV show or movie together
• Prepare lunch together in the kitchen
• Take a walk down the road, heading nowhere and going somewhere.

“Bisi and I have busy weeks, so we plan the Saturday together, I buy the chicken, fish, and drinks. She buys the ingredients for the stew or soup. While she cooks, I do the pounding, I even distract her, crack jokes, steal some fish or meat from the cooker and it doesn’t cost much money but we share the time of lives.”

 

5. Handle his/hers with care:

Most people do not hide their level of commitment to their families, for them, matters that concern the family is paramount to their existence.

Since you are in that committed relationship, you have to make space in your life to meet up with their family members one time or another.

Most people try to influence or force their partners to choose between the relationship and their family which is totally wrong.

You must bridge the awkwardness that comes with meeting them and treat them with respect and kindness. Trust me, he or she will appreciate and love you for every small effort you make at being so good with their family.

Never build a high wall between yourselves and them.
