A six-year-old marriage between a photographer and a herbalist has been dissolved by a Customary court sitting in Ikorodu area of Lagos over issues on child paternity and alleged infidelity.

According to the information gathered at this time, Fakoya Amos, 40, had filed a divorce suit against his photographer wife Bukola, over issues bordering on child paternity, infidelity and troublemaking.

The respondent, Bukola, 30, denied the allegations but admitted that she had an affair with another man, which resulted in pregnancy.

Presiding over the hearing, court President, Mrs Funmi Adeola, charged that the aggrieved couple to maintain peace.

During the hearing, Adeola had ruled that a DNA test should be performed to confirm the paternity of the child.

She ordered Bukola to stop bearing the man’s name and return her child to the owner after a DNA test revealed the true father.

Adeola further said.

“since it has been confirmed that the child does not belong to the petitioner, you are hereby ordered to stop parading yourself as his wife.

“The child must be properly taken care of and be taken to his biological father.”

Amos who resides at UNILAG Estate in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, in February had urged the court to dissolve the marriage, saying he suspected his wife was having extra-marital affairs.

However, Bukola who also accused her husband of battery had earlier begged for reconciliation.
