7 steps to deal with anger
Everyone, ever in our lives, has felt this strong emotion that takes over our reason and urges us to act in a way that we would never consciously act on.
Anger, a sentiment much studied by psychologists, affects children, young people and adults of all ages and is considered as an innate emotion to the individual itself. Releasing the aggressiveness that anger drives is like putting out the fire using gasoline.
On the other hand, swallowing all this emotion can also do a lot of harm to one’s own health. In this case, what is the best thing to do?
1. Do not deny the feeling
The best thing to do is to accept that you are at that moment angry about the situation, and from then on try to calm down. Denying the feeling can make you even stronger and more persistent.
2. Do not Feed the Feeling
You have already assumed what you are feeling, so now is the time to not think about him or touch the subject that left you like this, let this emotion calm down slowly.
3. Give yourself time to
So that you do not take actions that could harm you or make things even more difficult, move away. Give yourself time.
4. Do something you like
For a moment try to forget what has generated your fury and dedicate yourself to something that gives you pleasure, something you really enjoy doing. Then, with your head more rested, you’ll look at the problem another way.
5. Breathe
Proper breathing helps to soothe, so take some time for breathing exercises that may help you in this more tense time.
6. Reflect
Once you feel calmer and quieter try to look at the situation from another angle and find other ways of acting. This exercise can help you in other times of fury.
7. Seek assistance
If you feel constantly involved by this feeling, reflect on the help of a health professional to help you. Often talking to a psychologist is what you lack to learn how to better control this feeling.
Finding balance in relation to feelings is learning to put them in their proper place. Before you let your anger take over, consider whether it is and will be important to you, whether it will make a difference in your life now and in the future.
