Fibroids are extremely common. In fact, about 75 percent of women experience them at some point in their lives. Ranging in size from a few millimetres to the size of watermelons, fibroids are responsible for more than 200,000 hysterectomies each year.

What are fibroids? They’re non-cancerous tumours found within the uterine walls, often resulting in a change in the size or shape of the uterus as well as several unpleasant symptoms. However, they can also be symptomless. So whether you know you have fibroids or not, it’s a great idea for any woman to do things to naturally prevent these common growths in the uterus.

Some risk factors for fibroids are out of your control, but there are many you can manage. These includes things like eating higher-quality beef, working more leafy green vegetables into your diet and drinking less alcohol. There are also a lot of things you can do to balance your hormones naturally, which is a key part of natural fibroid treatment.

All indications now show that a better approach to solving most medical challenges, including fibroid is through diet. Medical researchers from all over the world have confirmed how humans develop different kinds of ailments through food consumption and also how changing diet can also be the solution. This is a better approach which is cheap and safe.

The daily recommended intake of fibre for women stands at 25g, although you need less as you get older — 21g if you are over the age of 51. This is critically important if you have fibroids. Boosting fibre intake to 30 g per day reduces the amount of oestrogen in your body, the hormone that triggers fibroid growth. Additionally, eating a high fibre, plant-based diet may help protect you fro fibroid.

The following are a list of foods which are recommended for women with fibroids:

1.Organic Foods.

Eating organic foods can help to prevent and shrink fibroids. Pesticides impact oestrogen and other hormones levels. Since hormonal balance is key to natural fibroid treatment, you want to reduce your pesticide intake as much as possible.

2. Green Leafy Vegetables.

Green leafy vegetables discourage the growth of fibroids in a woman’s body. These vegetables are vitamin K-rich foods. This vitamin aids in clotting and helps control of menstrual bleeding.

3. Cruciferous Vegetables.

Cruciferous vegetables support detoxification of your liver and balance oestrogen levels. Research has shown that high consumption of broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, tomato and apple seems to be a protective factor for uterine fibroids. A greater intake of cruciferous vegetables (and fresh fruits) is believed to be capable of reducing the incidence of uterine fibroids in women.

4. Use of Essential Oils.

Thyme, clary sage and frankincense are the best essential oils for natural fibroid treatment. They all have the ability to help balance hormones naturally. Clary sage oil has also been shown by researchers to significantly lower cortisol levels as well as have an anti-depressant effect on mood. This is just one of several studies that show clary sage oil’s ability to benefit a woman’s hormones.

Rub two drops of these essential oils over your lower abdomen two times daily; put two drops of frankincense oil on the roof of your mouth two times daily.

5. Raw Cocoa powder

Dark chocolate has many health benefits, including being high in potassium and iron. Cocoa powder, mostly used for baking, is also a good source of health benefits. Cocoa powder has over 33grams of fibre per 100grams – that’s over 100 percent of your recommended daily intake. Dark chocolate can have up to 17 grammes of fibre per 100 grammes, which is half of your daily intake requirement.

Take Note – Only cocoa powder and dark chocolate have enough nutrients to be consumed. White chocolate and milk chocolate are mostly sugar and are bad for you. They should be consumed sparingly since they have no health benefits whatsoever.

6. Broccoli:

Cooked broccoli has about 5grams of fibre in it. Fresh broccoli contains even more than that. Broccoli is also famous for having nutrients and properties that help prevent cancer.

7.Foods that are rich in iodine:

The use of iodine as a conventional treatment method for fibroids results from the belief that a deficiency in iodine may lead to the formation of various tumours including fibroid tumors as well as other gynaecological issues in the body.

Vegetables that grow under the surface of the ocean contain a wealth of nutritional benefits that may also reduce your uterine fibroids. Sea greens, such as seaweed, contain numerous amounts of vitamins, minerals and enzymes that promote good health, including the health of your uterus. Sea greens contain iodine, a particularly beneficial nutrient that may treat uterine fibroids. Adding sea vegetables to your diet will increase your iodine levels and help shrink your fibroids.

8.Garlic:

Garlic is a strong food that enhances the flavor of many foods. Adding garlic to your diet may also help treat uterine fibroids by working to shrink them. Compounds in garlic cloves can inhibit tumor growth, as well as the growth of uterine fibroids. Garlic is also good for your immune system because it contains powerful antioxidants. Fresh garlic has some benefits, and garlic supplements may be even more effective if you have large fibroids.

9.Turmeric:

curcumin from turmeric helps in inhibition of the unnecessary and excessive growth of the uterine tissues which helps in controlling uterine leiomyomas or fibroids. Curcumin induces programmed cell death in uterine fibroids.

In summary, Consistency will help you create new, healthier habits that will not only heal your body of fibroids but that will also improve your general health and wellbeing.
