Parents should not just have the desire to see the best in their children but they should add their input so as to achieve this aim. Don’t leave the work to the teachers in school alone; carry out your duties too. 7 ways you can prepare your child to be the best in the next promotion exam
The following steps will help you:
1. Appreciate your children for past achievements
To get the best out of your children, you need to show how much you love what they did in the previous tests or exams. If your child was fifth in a class of about 20 or more children, don’t scold him or her but appreciate them so they won’t feel bad. You can buy them gifts when they come top in their class.
2. Motivate them
No matter the level your child is in academic performance, he or she can still be better. To get the best out of these children you have to tell them they are the best and they can still do more, don’t put much pressure on them by shouting at them, also don’t focus on their negative aspects but encourage them so they can be the best.
3. let them get enough sleep
if children are deprived sleep it affects their alertness, mood, growth, physical health and also their ability to learn. For your child to be alert and perform better in their academics let them have at least 10 hours of sleep at night for those at primary levels and at least 8 hours of sleep for those at higher levels. Late night reading will make the child dull in the morning and lose concentration in class.
4. Feed them right
What you give your child to eat goes a long way in affecting them in every area. To increase the capacity of your child’s brain power there are foods you should feed them with like food containing omega3 which can be found in oily fish, milk, eggs, nuts containing vitamin E, zinc, carbohydrates rich in fiber that can produce glucose.
5. Read with your child
Take some time off what keeps you busy and study with your child especially in subjects where that child has difficulty. If your child is finding mathematics difficult and you are good with it, sit with the child and solve problems together. This will show your child how much you love him or her and they will develop more interest in studying.
6. Enroll your child for extra lessons
For some children, the teaching in school is not just enough. You can get someone friendly that your child can relate with to give that extra addition to what the child has learnt in school.
7. Give breaks
Long hours of studying get children bored. To make studying delights for your child give him or her some moments of a break. You can make the break interesting by doing something fun and creative.
Try these steps and see your children blossoms in their academics and all other areas of their lives
