CEO of MAF 44 Gardens and Event Centre, Arigbajo, Ogun State, Chief Moses Akanni Famuyiwa aka MAF44 was murdered by unknown assassins in his room at early hours of Wednesday, June 14. He was stabbed on the vein of his left elbow by the assailants.
There has been confusion about the cause of 73-year-old man’s murder. Some claim it’s a robbery incident and some others claim it was an assassination. The room where his body was found was stained all over with blood which shows he struggled with the attackers.
The wife of the deceased, Mrs. Opeyemi Akintanmide Famuyiwa, was with her husband during the incident said the attackers were about three in number and they stormed the house around 5 am when the security guards had gone.
She explained how they accessed the house through the window and attacked her husband who was with her in bed stabbing him after much struggle with a broken bottle and that they ensured he had lost much blood before leaving.
She said: “Immediately they left, I tied a cloth around the wound to stop the blood before I shouted for help. They didn’t go with any of his belongings; they only went with my phone and handbag, containing my identity card, driver’s license, two Automated Teller Machine cards (ATMs) and other valuables.
“They didn’t touch his expensive phone lying beside him. God should expose the killers, they must not go free,” she pleaded.
One of the man’s sons that was called by his mother took his father to the hospital because he was still breathing at that point. He died on the way to a second hospital as the first hospital rejected him.
The incident was confirmed by Ewekoro command of the Nigerian Police Force and the DPO in charge, an official of DSS said the wife of the deceased will be interrogated later and that security would be intensified.
