3 Ways to Make Father’s Day More Special for Him
In an increasingly consumerist world, we are daily led to believe that Father’s Day is synonymous with a beautiful gift purchased at the mall and wrapped in the most beautiful packaging. Not bad and nothing wrong. But, there are other special and meaningful ways that can make your hero more joyful on that special date.

1. Make a surprise
If you are absent, you may appear by surprise or promote a special lunch with your presence. Prepare that recipe you learned from your father or his favorite dish. If he has an appointment, share it with him and accompany him. If physical presence is not possible, you can bet on a virtual tribute, such as a retrospective of photos and videos. The important thing is to be present in some way, showing how important and special it is. After all, no gift, no matter how expensive, may represent what you feel.

2. Give a special moment a gift
Recently a friend shared with me that for some time I did not give people a material gift, but rather a special moment. It takes the gift for some ride, for a trip, lunch or special dinner, for example. I believe it is a great opportunity to share the moment, the affection, to remember, to make plans, to exchange ideals, to enjoy each other’s company. Certainly new, more meaningful memories will be created.

3. Remember to live
Do you know that joke or tradition that you practiced together? It’s time to take the bottom of the chest and revive! Take advantage of Father’s Day, the Sunday you took to dedicate yourself to that moment and enjoy together those experiences that were there in the past. Maybe you do not have a joke or something so dynamic, maybe your favorite hobby was watching a movie, sharing a reading or walking in the park after lunch. Whatever tradition has marked your relationship, the important thing is to relive that moment.

Whichever way you choose to demonstrate your love to your father, always prioritize your presence. Winning gift is wonderful, but nothing is more special than a hug, a warmth, a chat and good laughs. Make yourself present, surely your presence is what will make Father’s Day more special for him.
