The case of a 14-year-old girl identified as Elizabeth Akuna who was deflowered by her brother and impregnated by her father has been reported at the Warri ‘B police division in Delta state.
According to GUARDIAN’s report on the incident, Elizabeth’s father, Orutebe who is said to be in his late 40s admitted to the crime after he was interrogated by the leadership of Ugboroke community of Delta State where he resides.
However, what was a secret with the leaders of Ugboroke was soon blown open after neighbours sighted Elizabeth and noticed nauseating signs of early pregnancy in her. She was interrogated and then revealed that she was impregnated by her father, Orutebe who had slept with her severally.
A source in the community who pleaded anonymity said it was not the first time he would be involved in an act as this. He was said to have been involved in incest, citing cases where he had been accused of impregnating his niece.
“He has impregnated his niece on two separate occasions. The girl upon further interrogation also revealed that aside from her father, her elder brother from another mother, who is also on the run, deflowered her and had been having intercourse with her,” he added.
A source at the Warri ‘B’ Division where the case was reported confirmed the incident, disclosing that one of the wives of the suspect, Grace Akuna, was arrested in connection with the incident.

“The wife has since been released following intervention by an Ijaw monarch, but we are still looking for the man and his son,” the source added.
Meanwhile, a similar case of a father, Inusa Aliyu who allegedly abused his 14-year-old daughter sexually in Katsina has also been reported by the mother of the teenage girl.
According to Katsina state police spokesman DSP Gambo Isah, Aliyu has admitted to the allegation, but said a herbalist gave him some good luck charm on condition that he had to have sex with his daughter for it to be effective.
