Aisha Buhari returns Promise the President will be back
The Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, returned this morning from her trip to the United Kingdom to see her husband, The President of Nigeria who went on a medical leave.
The spokesperson of the first lady of Nigeria, Suleiman Haruna, conveyed the appreciation of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigerians just as Aisha Buhari has dictated to him. He said the
President thank all Nigerians for their constant prayers and said he would soon be back in the country.
The statement, which was emailed to PREMIUM TIMES, quoted Mrs. Buhari as saying her husband was recuperating fast. Mrs. Buhari called on Nigerians to continue to be strong in the face of challenges and to support the Federal Government in implementing
the agenda for which they were elected.
“Mr. President thanked the acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for his loyalty and called on Nigerians to continue to support the acting President in his effort to actualize the mandate of the All Progressives Congress,” she said. Mrs. Buhari had gone to the United Kingdom to spend some time with her husband on the 30th of May.
Before leaving, she appreciated Nigerians for their constant support and prayers for President Buhari’s quick recovery. The President had earlier left for London May 7 to undergo another round of treatment after his previous trip in February. Upon his return on March 10 the president said he couldn’t recall being that sick since he was a young man, including when he was in the military which was full with so many ups and downs.
A reliable source close to the president had told PREMIUM TIMES in late May that the president’s health is increasing at a steady pace but that only his doctor in the UK can really determine when he will return back to Nigeria. The source who sees the president on a daily
basis pleaded anonymity since the president’s health is not meant to be discussed by him. In fact, he concluded that the president is fine and is observing all his of his daily prayers.
