Alaafin prevents shut down of six tertiary institutions by unpaid workers

Angry workers of both teaching and none teaching academics of the Oyo state-owned six tertiary institutions in the state who can no longer provide for their families due to their 15 months unpaid salaries.
Recall that the workers have been on strike for many months now and the state government had not find solution their demands.
The workers who planned to shut down the state secretariat in Ibadan were prevented by the  Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
The Alaafin, however, promised to appeal to the governor and ensure the matter will be resolved amicably.
According to the leader of the planned protest, Mr. Adeniyi Afees, the staff said they had concluded plans to mobilize at least 20,000 people if the government failed to settle 15 months outstanding salaries owed them.
Staff of The Polytechnic, Ibadan; Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, The Ibarapa polytechnic, Eruwa polyphenic, The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, and College of Education, Lanlate, were in Oyo town to plead with the monarch to prevail on the governor to meet their demands.
