Visiting Prayer Mountains is one of the usual practices for Christians in Nigeria but Mount Carmel Prayer mountain located at Ifewara, Osun State, stands out among others.

Mount Carmel Prayer mountain was established by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye, in July 2015, after about 30 years of deliberating on the idea.

The exceptional prayer mountain is located in the hometown of Pastor Adeboye, Ifewara which is just ten minutes’ drive from Ile Ife, Osun state.

There are so many things that make Mount Carmel different from other prayer mountains and they are:

• Places of a personal encounter with God, Mount Carmel prayer mountain has on it small houses called (prayer huts) that can only contain just one person encountering God.

• Safe and Modern environment, the prayer mountain has very good and attractive environment that makes a person feel at home even while seeking an encounter with God.
• Mount Carmel Prayer Mountain also has a Restaurant where the visitors can eat without going out of the environment.

• Dormitories are also on the mountain where visitors can lodge while they spend days seeking God on the mountain.

According to what Pastor Adeboye said at the opening of the Mountain in the year 2015, the plan to build the prayer mountain was inspired when he and his wife visited David Yonggi Cho prayer conference in Seoul, South Korea. So, they decided to recreate such praying Mountain in Nigeria.
