Tinubu slumped on the first full day of the retreat which was held in Epe area of Lagos at the Jubilee Chalets while playing five-a-side football with colleagues.
Government source reveals that the governor decides that the retreat which was supposed to last for three days, be put to and end in honour of the deceased.
The retreat was meant for state executive members, permanent secretaries and was meant to end on Saturday but was cancelled abruptly by the governor to the late Governor’s special adviser.
“The retreat has been cancelled, it cannot go on again because of the sad happening. The governor has asked that it should be discontinued in honour of the deceased,” the government source said.
Earlier today, the speaker of Lagos state House of Assembly, Honourable Mudashiru Obasa had expressed his heartfelt condolence to the family of the deceased.
He stated that he received news of Tinubu’s death with a great shock. However, he further condoled with them and lauded the deceased for his contribution to service while he was alive.
