Mikel Arteta says he has no plans to leave Arsenal, despite reports linking him to his previous team Barcelona.
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has denied the most recent rumours tying him to a transfer to Barcelona.
Mikel began his coaching career by leading Arsenal to the Premier League’s top spot in 2022–2023 while still a young player for Barcelona.
According to recent Spanish sources, Barcelona is considering hiring him to succeed Xavi as a coach.
However, the Arsenal manager repeated how content he is in north London when asked about the links at his news conference prior to Thursday night’s Europa League match with FC Zurich.
“I’m overjoyed,” he exclaimed. I’m happy with where I am in life.

Xavi, who has been in charge at Camp Nou since November 2021, was also lauded by Arteta for his work.
Barcelona, in my opinion, is currently on a great road, Arteta added. “You have to be very respectful of them. They have a fantastic coach. A coach who has been an incredible icon in that club and has lifted the entire place.”
Arteta graduated from Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy, but he left without ever appearing for the first team to join Paris Saint-Germain.
