An 11-year-old boy was taken into custody on suspicion of murdering his five-year-old brother when Deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on South Jericho Street at about 5:30pm on Tuesday following reports of a child’s death.

When authorities arrived, they discovered the lifeless body of the five-year-old inside the residence.
Investigators later identified the suspect as the victim’s older brother, who is now facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the shocking death.
The child suspect has been placed in custody at the Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center.
Officials say the circumstances surrounding the young boy’s death remain under investigation, and authorities have yet to release details.
“Our hearts go out to the family of these two young boys and to everyone in our community who is grieving this loss,” Sheriff Tyler Brown said.
