The Ogun State Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons has secured the return of a 13 year old girl who was trafficked to Burkina Faso for sexual exploitation.
The teenager, a tailoring apprentice, was allegedly taken out of Nigeria last year by her 26 year old employer, Omotola Adedibu, who is divorced. Authorities said she was moved to the French speaking country and forced into prostitution.

According to NAPTIP, the minor was made to engage in sexual acts with several men daily in a bid to repay a debt of 1.3 million CFA francs to a woman identified as Madam Sweet. The agency said the abuse lasted for more than six months.
The Ogun State Commander of NAPTIP, Abosede Jimoh, disclosed the development on Thursday, February 5, 2026, while speaking to journalists at a sensitisation programme on human trafficking held at Gateway Secondary School, Ita Iyalode, Abeokuta.
Jimoh described the rescue and repatriation of the victim as one of the agency’s recent breakthroughs.
She stated that the prime suspect, Omotola Adedibu, has been arrested and will soon be arraigned in court, while other accomplices involved in the trafficking are still at large.
The commander noted that Ogun State remains heavily affected by human trafficking and emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between communities, institutions and law enforcement agencies to curb the crime.
She added that the sensitisation programme was organised to educate students, who are often vulnerable to traffickers, about the dangers of human trafficking and how to recognise and report suspicious activitie
