* Davido sought only joint custody of his daughter Imade Adeleke, not full custody.
* Court proceedings escalated when Sophia's lawyer questioned Davido's ability to protect Imade by referencing the tragic death of his son Ifeanyi.
* Deeply wounded, Davido withdrew the case entirely, declaring that the only true loser is Imade.
Afrobeats icon David Adeleke, known as Davido, has dramatically ended his legal pursuit for joint custody of his first daughter, Imade Adeleke, following an explosive courtroom confrontation that left raw emotions exposed.

The high-stakes hearing unfolded on February 13 at the Lagos State High Court in Yaba, where Davido and Sophia Momodu, Imade's mother, faced off once more in a battle that began in 2024. Sources reported that tensions rose sharply when Sophia's lawyer challenged Davido on guaranteeing Imade's safety, asking how he could protect her when he failed to protect his son Ifeanyi, who drowned tragically in October 2022.
Davido reportedly lost his composure, slamming the lawyer in open court.
The session halted briefly amid the outburst.
Upon reconvening, the judge demanded an apology to the court and the lawyer, but Davido refused, insisting he could never apologize for someone weaponizing his deceased son's memory against him.
In a heartfelt series of posts on his X handle that evening, Davido poured out his pain and resolve. He wrote: 'I never asked for full custody … I asked for joint custody. Nobody won, nobody lost but Imade… so I don’t know why some pple r celebrating.. There’s nothing to celebrate.'
He continued, 'I’ve decided to drop the case because when I was spanking that lawyer in the court room all .. she would get so frustrated .. because normally I finish school .. I was finishing her .. until she brought out her last card ! MY DECEASED SON ! THATS A NO NO ! Lowest blow!'
Davido emphasized his unwavering love for Imade, born in May 2015 during his relationship with Sophia. 'My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her.. let’s move on One love!' he declared
