The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has paid a condolence visit to the family of a cameraman with the Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV), Kabiru Ahmed Ilaleh, who died after sustaining injuries in a road accident while on official duty in Bauchi State.

A delegation from the commission, visited the residence of the late cameraman to sympathise with his family over the tragic loss.
Ilaleh, 56, passed away on March 1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, where he had been receiving treatment for about three weeks following the crash.
The accident occurred on February 6, along the Yashi–Yelwan Duguri Road in Alkaleri Local Government Area while journalists were covering the inauguration of projects executed by the NEDC.
At least 13 journalists from different media organisations were involved in the crash.
Speaking during the visit, NEDC Managing Director, Mohammed G. Alkali, represented by Naomi Abwaku, described Ilaleh’s death as a painful loss, noting that the cameraman died in the line of duty.
She praised journalists for their dedication and sacrifices in carrying out their responsibilities.
The Bauchi State Coordinator of the commission, Aliyu Isiyaku, also described the late cameraman as a committed professional whose contributions would not be forgotten.
He disclosed that the commission provided financial support and food items to assist the bereaved family during the difficult period.
Responding on behalf of the family, the deceased’s elder brother, Salisu Abubakar Sadiq, thanked the commission for its compassion and support during Ilaleh’s treatment and after his passing.
