A Nigerian female footballer, Ihotu John Rebecca, has been abducted by gunmen along the notorious Benin Expressway sparking desperate pleas from her familyas kidnappers demand a ₦20 million ransom for her safe return.

Her family appealed for public support following her abduction along the Benin Expressway.
Rebecca who features for Pacesetter Queens FC in the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership was reportedly kidnapped on Friday February 27 while travelling home along the Benin motorway.
According to emerging reports her abductors have demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for her release.
The family has called on football stakeholders club executives sponsors government officials sports administrators and well meaning Nigerians to assist in securing her safe return.
The 33 year old defender last played for Pacesetter Queens FC an Oyo State government backed team in the NWFL Premiership before being released along with others after the league's first half as reported by PUNCH.
