Naomi, the woman, asserted her maternity based on distinctive features after seeing the baby online.
"I'm not mistaken," she told LIB.
She explained that she gave birth on May 9 2025 at a hospital that informed her the baby had died and was buried the next day, only for her to now believe the abandoned infant matches her child through the red patch on her face, nose, and full hair.
The rescuer who stepped up when police did not, countered with medical facts from the February 20 2026 discovery.
He told LIB: "I am not desperate for a child. I have three children: two girls and a boy. If I wanted to adopt, I'll adopt a boy. But here's a girl that the world wants to deny a good life. I want to adopt her and ensure she's safe."
He detailed how his wife, a foreign medical doctor, rushed the placenta attached newborn to hospital where doctors said another 20 minutes would have been fatal.
"Maggots were removed from the baby's ears from that Friday till Monday. That child suffered. Nobody slept," he added, noting he funded admission, incubation, oxygen, treatment, bought supplies, and donated blood.
"If she's willing to do DNA, If she proves herself well and her story is true, my wife and I will be glad to release the child...."
