In a rare and deeply moving gesture, the family of Avtar Gill has donated his body for medical research, honouring his final wish and turning grief into a lasting contribution to humanity.

Gill, 79, founder of the Tarksheel Movement in Canada, passed away in Ludhiana after battling prolonged illness.
On Monday, his family and associates handed over his mortal remains to a government hospital for research purposes, choosing science over traditional cremation rites.
Close associate Kanwaljeet Khanna revealed that Gill had long expressed his desire for cadaver donation, insisting his death should serve a greater purpose.
In line with his wishes, no religious rituals were performed, and his body was taken directly to the hospital.
Doctors at the hospital described the donation as invaluable, noting that cadavers play a critical role in medical education and research, helping train future doctors and improve treatment methods.
Gill is survived by his wife and five children, all of whom travelled from Canada to fulfil his final wish.
