A family has fled their historic home in Rottingdean after being plagued by ghostly activity at the property that inspired the board game Cluedo.

The house formed part of the former Tudor Close Hotel, a 1930s celebrity hotspot visited by Hollywood stars including Errol Flynn and Katharine Hepburn. It was later converted into luxury residences.

Former art director, Grant, moved into the end unit with his young family in the 1990s.
The property had previously belonged to well-known villager, Elizabeth Dacre, who died shortly before their arrival.
Almost immediately, bizarre events unfolded with security alarm triggered nightly at 1 am in the same room, despite expert inspections finding nothing wrong.
Grant reported seeing an elderly woman sitting alone on a bench by the church in freezing conditions late at night.
He later identified her as Elizabeth Dacre after neighbours gave him her autobiography.
Visiting children claimed to see an old lady at the front door when none was there.
A family friend saw a mysterious ‘grandmother’ figure going upstairs and declared, “The house is not happy with this situation; it does not want family here.”
Grant also described seeing a room full of people dining formally, with a man in a black tie staring back at him.
The stress contributed to the breakdown of his marriage even Grant has since moved away.
Even a battle-hardened cameraman refused to enter the house on his final visit as the chilling story was told on the BBC podcast,UNCANNY.
