The sudden death of Mohammad Nazeer Paktyawal has sparked outrage and urgent calls for answers after he died less than a day after being taken into U.S. immigration custody in Texas.

Paktyawal, a 41-year-old Afghan father of six, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while taking his children to school in the Dallas area.
Within hours, he reportedly began experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath while in custody.
Authorities say he was transferred to Parkland Hospital, where his condition worsened.
Despite medical intervention, he died the following morning.
Officials have not yet released a confirmed cause of death, and an investigation is ongoing.
According to reports by THE DALLAS EXPRESS, his family insists he had no prior health issues and says his death has left them devastated and searching for answers.
Advocacy groups have also raised concerns, noting how unusual it is for a relatively healthy man to die so quickly after being detained.
The case has added to growing scrutiny around conditions in immigration detention centres, with Paktyawal reported to be among several individuals who have died in ICE custody this year.
As investigations continue, his loved ones say they are focused on one thing: understanding what really happened in his final hours.
