Gospel Singer Denies Flirting With Man's Estranged Wife, as His Wife Defends Him

Gospel singer Neon Adejo has denied flirting with photographer David Martins' estranged wife, Alicia, explaining why he asked her to send him a selfie amid an ongoing controversy surrounding the trio.

In a video, Neon said he became involved after Alicia allegedly opened up to him about experiencing mental, financial, verbal and emotional abuse in her marriage.

He said he informed his wife about the situation, and they both agreed to support Alicia, including providing financial assistance, accommodation and other help.

According to him, the selfie was requested after Alicia had her hair done through a friend he recommended, and he wanted her to send a picture so he could update the friend who had helped with the hairstyle.

Neon said David later shared the message in a way that suggested he was flirting with Alicia, adding that important parts of their conversation had been deleted.

Alicia also denied flirting with Neon during a three-way conversation, saying there was nothing romantic between them.

Neon said he and his wife have since prayed about the situation and established stricter boundaries to prevent their intentions from being misinterpreted in the future.

Meanwhile, Neon Adejo's wife has come out to defend her husband, urging David Martins to address the allegations of abuse rather than shift responsibility onto others.

In a statement, she criticised what she described as a carefully constructed narrative that selectively presents information to influence public opinion.

She said it was disturbing that people who were genuinely supported after experiencing hardship could later make damaging allegations against those who helped them in good faith.

Addressing suggestions that her husband may have had ulterior motives for assisting Alicia, she said Neon had always provided for her, their son and the rest of his family.

‘My husband chooses to spend money assisting someone he believes is genuinely in need, best believe he's spent much more for me, our son and the rest of his family. He has and will never deprive me or his family in order to do so,’ she said.

She questioned David over the allegations surrounding his own marriage, asking whether he abused his wife, left her and their son without adequate shelter in a foreign country, and failed to provide for their needs.

She argued that those were the issues David should address instead of transferring responsibility to Neon, who she said only stepped in to help.

The singer's wife maintained that generosity should not automatically be viewed as having ulterior motives, and urged people to focus on the facts and conduct of those involved.
