A 13-year-old boy has tragically died by suicide just days after celebrating his birthday, with his devastated family claiming repeated pleas for help were dismissed.

Josiah Michael Dwinell died on March 12 in Alstead, New Hampshire, just eight days after turning 13. According to relatives, the teenager had been battling relentless bullying both at school and on the bus.
Family members say his struggles were not taken seriously, alleging that concerns raised about his mental health were brushed aside as attention-seeking behaviour. Despite multiple attempts to get support, they claim no meaningful intervention came from outside the home.

Josiah, who had already faced personal hardship after losing his biological mother years earlier, was being cared for by his grandmother, who tried to protect him from the bullying.
In a heartbreaking account, relatives said the young boy “couldn’t handle the bullying anymore”, with reports indicating he jumped from a bridge despite not knowing how to swim.
Described as a kind and joyful child, his death has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him. A fundraising campaign set up to support funeral costs has since drawn widespread support.
His tragic passing has reignited urgent conversations about bullying, mental health awareness, and the need to take children’s cries for help seriously.
