Nollywood actress Bisola Aiyeola, who turned 40 in January, says she is happier than she has ever been.

“I turned 40 in January. Yeah. I love me so much, and this is the best times of my life,” she said.
Bisola is a mother to a 17-year-old daughter. She spoke about the challenges of raising a child as a single parent, explaining that she reminds her daughter that it is not something to aspire to.
“Being a single parent and looking after my daughter, I still let her know that being a single parent is not that easy. That’s not what you should aspire to be. Bearing the whole load of raising a child shouldn’t be for one person alone,” she said.
She shared her views on marriage on the In My Opinion podcast, where actor Uzor Arukwe also discussed his own thoughts on the subject.
Bisola highlighted the responsibilities women often carry in relationships. She questioned why some women should remain married when they still have to do most of the work themselves.
“Women are like, you know what? What’s the point if I still have to do everything myself? Why do I have to be tied to this man all in the name of marriage?” she said.
The actress noted that some women are breadwinners who also bear children and take responsibility for childcare and household duties, while their partners expect to be served.
She nonetheless described marriage as an important institution and said she would be open to it if the opportunity arose.
“Marriage is an institution, is essential for the society. For me, if marriage does come, I will get married, but it is not the core of my existence. I mean, I’m doing pretty good,” she stated.
