Nine years after the tragic death of Oghenekaro Ologe, his family has finally broken its silence, recounting the painful circumstances surrounding his passing and the events that followed.
According to THE GUARDIAN, Oghenekaro, a native of Isoko South Local Council in Delta State, died on December 17, 2017, after being electrocuted at his residence while supervising workers. A pumping machine with exposed wiring allegedly discharged a fatal current, killing him instantly.
Described by relatives as industrious and family-oriented, the deceased had built a sizeable estate, including multiple properties and commercial ventures in the Satellite/FESTAC axis of Lagos, leaving behind a wife and four children.
Following his death, the family said it stepped back to allow his widow, Ogaga Oghene Odiru, space to grieve and manage his assets while raising the children.
However, the family now claims relations deteriorated over time, alleging that communication with the widow became strained and repeated attempts to check on the welfare of the children were rebuffed.
Despite years of silence, the family says it held on to hope that the situation would improve, but concerns over the children’s well-being and access have prompted them to finally speak out.
