Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has shared thoughtful advice for couples dealing with resistance from a partner’s family.

Speaking during an appearance on The Morayo Show hosted by media personality Morayo Brown, the veteran actress encouraged couples not to rush into ending their relationships simply because of family opposition. Instead, she urged partners to focus on building understanding, patience, and open communication with resistant relatives.
According to Omotola, winning over in laws may require time, intentional effort, and genuine engagement. She stressed that family support plays an important role in many marriages, especially within Nigerian homes where extended family ties remain strong.
However, the actress also noted that if all efforts to resolve the hostility fail and the opposition becomes unbearable, couples may need to carefully reconsider the union.
Her comments have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians sharing their experiences about navigating family interference and cultural expectations in marriage.
