Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry has tied the knot with his longtime partner, Pearl, on December 16, 2025, in Lekki, Lagos despite a bitter public saga involving Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who has accused the pastor of ending a long-term intimate relationship with her to marry another woman.

The event featured both traditional and white wedding elements, attended by family, friends, and prominent clerics, including Bishop Isaac Idahosa and Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo.

The controversy erupted in mid-December when a video of Okafor's engagement proposal to Pearl went viral. Ogala, 44, responded with emotional Instagram videos, claiming she had been in a romantic relationship with the cleric since 2017. She alleged that Okafor promised to marry her, but instead "ruined her life" by abandoning her.

In tearful posts, Ogala described suffering miscarriages (which she says were misrepresented as abortions), emotional instability, the mysterious death of her brother, and health decline since their involvement began. Ogala further accused Okafor of sharing her nude videos without consent, leaking intimate content, and pressuring her during a previous marriage.

She vowed to disrupt the wedding, stating dramatically, "You will kill me first before you can marry," and demanded compensation, including a house, insisting it was her "right" under the law for a broken marriage promise.

Despite Ogala's threats and reports of a near-suicide attempt, the wedding proceeded without incident on Tuesday. Photos and videos from the event portray a celebratory atmosphere, with strong support from Okafor's circle.

Post-wedding, she claimed the marriage to Pearl was "forced" due to pregnancy and pressure from the bride's family, alleging Pearl's mother is a choir coordinator in Okafor's church.

On December 18, reports emerged that Ogala's lawyers issued a 21-day ultimatum demanding ₦1 billion from Okafor for a "botched marriage claim," threatening legal action otherwise. Ogala maintains she has evidence, including chats and recordings, supporting her allegations.
