A storm is gathering around former Big Brother Naija housemate Neo Akpofure after a woman on X ignited a public controversy that has now escalated into a legal battle.

The accuser, identified as Ms Arikan Udoka using the handle @notralia, claimed on Tuesday February 17 that what began as a casual sexual relationship between them during their time at the University of Calabar ended in an alleged rape incident.
According to her claims shared on X, both parties had agreed to a friends with benefits arrangement under one strict condition that neither would be in a romantic relationship.
She alleged that upon discovering Neo was involved with someone else, she confronted him at his residence and that during that encounter, he raped her.
Neo has now responded through his lawyers in a letter dated February 18 2026 from the law firm E.L. Akpofure SAN & Co.. The legal notice described the claims as false and malicious.
His legal team stated that Ms Udoka published defamatory content on X which has caused reputational harm.
In the letter, his lawyers wrote, 'The allegation falsely portrays our client as a sexual offender and a criminal, thereby subjecting him to public odium, reputational injury and emotional distress.'
The firm demanded that the accuser delete the post and all related publications.
They also insisted on a public retraction and apology acknowledging that the allegations were untrue.
In addition, they requested a written undertaking that no further defamatory statements would be made about their client.
The lawyers further described the claims as 'entirely false, malicious and defamatory.'
