Dr. Ron Kenoly, the influential American Christian worship leader, singer, and songwriter whose powerful anthems shaped contemporary praise music for decades, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 81.

The news was broken by his longtime music director and close associate, Bruno Miranda, who shared a heartfelt statement on Kenoly's official Instagram account. 'This morning, Feb. 3, 2026, we said goodbye to Dr. Ron Kenoly,' Miranda wrote.
'For over 20 years, I had the honor of walking alongside him in ministry around the world, not just as his music director, but as a son, a student, and a witness to a life marked by faithfulness.' He described Kenoly as a mentor, spiritual father, and devoted servant whose life exemplified unwavering commitment to worship.
Born on December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Kenoly began his career after serving in the U.S. Air Force. He transitioned fully to ministry in the 1980s, leading worship at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California, before signing with Integrity Music.
His breakthrough came with the 1992 live album Lift Him Up, which became one of the fastest-selling worship recordings of its time and helped redefine congregational praise with energetic, choir-led anthems.
Over his career, Kenoly released numerous acclaimed albums, including God Is Able, Sing Out with One Voice, and Welcome Home, earning a Gospel Music Association Dove Award and selling millions worldwide.
Songs such as 'ep,' 'Sing Out,' and 'Majesty' became staples in churches globally, particularly influencing worship in Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
