A 13-year-old boy in North Fort Myers, Florida, faces serious charges after allegedly choking the family puppy and violently attacking a relative when the dog had an accident indoors.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Wednesday afternoon to a home on Nault Drive following reports of a disturbance.
The teen, identified as Alexander Chambers, reportedly lost control after the puppy passed waste on the floor, then he picked up the animal and began choking it.

When a family member intervened, Chambers allegedly struck the victim on the head with a rock, causing a minor injury, then grabbed a knife and chased the person around the residence while threatening them with the weapon.
He was also seen using the knife to try to open the front door as deputies arrived.
The puppy was unharmed, and the victim's injury was minor.
Chambers was arrested on the scene and charged with one count of animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
He has been placed in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice for a 21-day detention period.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno condemned the incident, emphasizing zero tolerance for abuse, “I will not tolerate any kind of abuse in Lee County. I stand by my guarantee to protect those who cannot protect themselves.”
