In Jos, Plateau State, a court has just wrapped up a case that hits close to home for many families. Abdullahi Usman, after admitting his actions, was sentenced to 12 months in prison or a N50,000 fine for enticing a married woman and defaming her character. The whole situation started when he called the woman and invited her to a hotel, then threatened to tell her husband damaging lies if she said no.
The husband, Hamza Aliyu, reported everything to the police back in November 2025, and during the investigation, Usman confessed. The judge, Irene Pati, made it clear that this kind of behavior breaks the law and hurts real people.
In the end, the court chose justice that protects trust, and many are breathing a sigh of relief knowing the law stands up for what is right.
