Three kidnapped residents from the Taki community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have been released after more than a month in captivity.

The victims Eniojukan Samuel, his wife Eniojukan Bunmi, and sister-in-law Ekomitan Mary were abducted over four weeks ago along the Ihale–Taki Road.
The kidnappers initially demanded a Twenty million Naira ransom for their release.
According to community sources, the family paid an undisclosed ransom to secure their freedom, bringing immense relief to their loved ones and the entire community.
Details of the negotiations have not been made public. The release was reported on January 19, 2026, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
