Media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed the face of her daughter, Yakira, for the first time as the toddler marked her first birthday on Thursday, August 7.

Toke welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, in August last year at age 40, announcing the pregnancy on Instagram in August with an emotional post about becoming a mother for the first time.
To celebrate the milestone, the media personality and entrepreneur shared photos from a purple-themed birthday shoot, publicly introducing her daughter for the first time alongside an emotional message about what the past year has meant to her.
Sharing the photos online, Toke wrote:
’The best part of my story, finally yours to meet. Yakira Eliana. My precious answered prayer. My greatest love. My greatest blessing.
‘One whole year of you, and today, I finally share a little piece of my heaven with the world. God can be trusted, God is real…
‘Just like Hagar my mouth can testify that I have met "El-roi", the God who sees me.
‘Happy birthday Yakira Eliana, my YaYa, Ya Pom Pom, Ya mama, my little bum bum.’
The former OAP had been counting down to the milestone in the days leading up to it.
On the eve of her daughter's birthday, Toke shared a video from her pregnancy days, expressing how emotional she felt and giving a shout-out to other girl moms.
She had also shared plans to fly her daughter to London for the birthday celebration, joking in an Instagram story that people needed to address her differently now that she has a one-year-old.
Yakira's name carries deep meaning for Toke. Yakira Eliana combines two Hebrew-origin names, with Yakira meaning "precious," "beloved," or "dear one," derived from "Yakir," an adjective meaning "precious" or "valued."
Since welcoming her daughter, Toke has continued to share glimpses of her journey into motherhood, including a dedication ceremony held in November, attended by public figures such as Shade Okoya, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and his wife, Mercy Eke, Ruth Kadiri, Mercy Aigbe, Priscilla Ojo, Eniola Badmus, and Uche Montana.
