In the quiet embrace of Bridlington's Little Eden Holiday Park, a half term escape turned into unimaginable nightmare when emergency responders discovered the lifeless bodies of a 15 year old girl and a 17 year old boy inside a rental chalet.

The pair, whose identities remain shielded to honor grieving families, were pronounced dead at the scene on February 18, 2026,
Humberside Police swiftly cordoned off the site, their statement revealing the grim call to Bridlington Bay Road.
Chief Superintendent Matt Peach said, 'Emergency services were in immediate attendance at the holiday park, where sadly a 15 year old girl and a 17 year old boy were pronounced deceased inside the property. This is incredibly distressing and heartbreaking for the families of the teenagers involved, and they are at the forefront of our minds and actions.
'Specially trained officers have been supporting the families over the last 24 hours, and I would please ask people to refrain from any form of speculation and to respect their privacy.'
As suspicions mounted over foul play, investigators delved deeper, collaborating with Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
'A cordon remains in place to allow enquiries to continue, and we are working closely with Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,' Peach added.
'We have a dedicated team conducting extensive enquiries, some of which have been complex and required additional time to complete.'
The tension peaked with the arrest of a 33 year old man on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
'As part of the investigation, I can confirm a 33 year old man has been arrested today on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and remains in custody,' confirmed Peach.
'Whilst we are in the very early stages and the deaths at this time remain unexplained, we are exploring the possibility that they may be connected to carbon monoxide poisoning, with further enquiries continuing with our partner agencies.'
In the aftermath, emergency teams fanned out across the park, offering safety checks and solace to stunned guests, as an increased police presence blanketed the area.
Peach reassured, 'Emergency Services and partner agencies have attended all other properties on the site to offer advice, support and guidance and ensure everyone’s safety. We know the shock and upset this will cause to the local community, and I want to offer my reassurance we will do all we can to determine exactly what has happened. Those living in the area will continue to see an increased police presence and we will provide further updates as soon as we are able to.'
