Stephen Demaro (62) and Debora (59) had built a home on Laurelwood Lane for twenty six years raising a family in their modest eight hundred thousand dollar ranch style property as property records show.

Neighbors described them as unassuming rarely hinting at turmoil according to reports from the New York Post.
Yet estrangement had set in with the pair cohabiting under one roof but worlds apart emotionally.
The tension simmered unnoticed until Valentines Day February 14 when romance turned to rage.
Police responded to a disturbance at the home shortly after 6:30 am, Sgt Lizbeth Gwisdalla said. What began as a routine call unraveled into horror as officers entered finding Stephen with cuts to his arms self inflicted or defensive marks of a struggle and Debora's absence in the house deepened the mystery building suspense as investigators pressed further.
Pushing into the garage cops uncovered the unthinkable Deboras body ravaged by stab wounds.
She had apparently been stabbed to death in the early hours turning a symbol of enduring partnership into a tomb.
Stephen was rushed to hospital for his injuries but the weight of evidence pointed to him as the perpetrator.
Gwisdalla would not share any information about Stephens alleged motive leaving the community to ponder what snapped in a man who shared decades with his victim.
The arrest followed swiftly with Stephen held at Orange County Intake Release Center in Santa Ana on one million dollar bail.
He is due in court Wednesday February 18 facing charges that could seal his fate.
