Just about a week after a mass burial was held in Benue State for about 70 persons who died from the Fulani herdsmen attack; about six persons have been killed again in fresh attacks.

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom confirmed that there was another attack on communities in state while speaking at the Government House on the 17th January 2018.

Six persons were killed by suspected herdsmen in fresh attacks on communities in Logo, Guma and Okpokwu Local Government Areas of Benue State.

Governor Ortom made the killings known when he received Brigadier General Dominic Oneya (rtd), a former military administrator of the state, who paid a condolence visit to the governor with other delegates.

According to Governor Ortom, two women were reportedly killed in Guma LGA and two other persons in Logo on the 16th of January 2018. The governor made it known that the killings was still going on in the state.

The Governor repeated his call on security agencies to arrest the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore whom he alleged were still threatening and resisting implementation of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law in the state.

Governor Ortom appreciated General Oneya for identifying with people of Benue state at this moment of trials.
