Buhari Forwards List Of Five Nominees for Non-Executive Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Board.
In line with the Central Bank Act 2007, President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded a list of new sets of nominees to the Nigeria Senate for confirmation as Non-Executive Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Board.
According to the statement release by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, on his Facebook page, Buhari forwarded the names of the nominees to the Senate in a letter to Senate president, Bukola Saraki on Wednesday, 12th April.
He said it is in accordance with Section 6 (1) (d) and 10 (1) and (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2007.
The letter to the Senate president contained the following names as the nominees and their geo-political zones.
- Professor Ummu Ahmed Jalingo – north east
- Professor Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko – south east
- Professor Mike I. Obadan – south south
- Dr. Abdu Abubakar – north west
- Adeola Adetunji – south west.
