A certificate doesn’t command mastery or success in this present world. The world is actually waiting for solution providers who can dig deep and mine out gold from obscure places beneath the earth.
Dear readers, it is not just about the certificates, but about what the certificate holder can deliver.
At most, we all agree that all there is in several formal institutions of learning is to gain knowledge in the classroom, understand what is been taught, come out of school with flying colours, maybe have a colourful graduation ceremony, and thereafter be issued a certificate which certifies that you have gone through a citadel of learning.
But it is a shocking revelation today that certificates no longer carry value if the holder has not imbibed and learned beyond the four walls of the classroom.
What the world remembers more frequently is not the school you attended or the certificate you earned, but the impact that you were able to make after graduation from school.
A study into renowned originators and founders of big cooperation today shows that majority of them never completed school or even dropped out during their studies.
Taking a cue from the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. Mark never graduated from Harvard his alma mater; in fact, he dropped out and began the making of a dream which has been placed on nearly every living individual’s phone.
As at today, Mark is hiring lots of prominent individuals and lately Joel Benenson a former top adviser to President Barack Obama who was also the chief strategist for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Please pay attention to this, Zuckerberg wasn’t just goofing around with his certificate (well he never had one, not until May 25, 2017), but rather placed a dream he foresaw in his pondering days in his Harvard dormitory room on February 4, 2004.
And now the big question… what happens when all possible access to your certificate becomes futile?
It is interesting to note today that it is also not about what you studied in school but what else, there is, that you can do better.
Your ability to create the world bigger for everyone to live in starts when you forgo those distinctions lettered boldly in your certificate. Of course going to school is important, but it never ends in the four walls with a board, marker and an instructor.
