City face Middlesbrough, Liverpool and Monaco in different competitions as the Spaniard targets silverware
PEP GUARDIOLA admits he faces the biggest week of his Manchester City reign.
They have key games in three competitions over eight days — starting with today’s FA Cup quarter-final at Middlesbrough.
City then go to Monaco for a Champions League clash on Wednesday before hosting Liverpool in the Prem next Sunday.
Guardiola said: “These games will decide what happens in the next two months. Definitely.”
The former Barcelona boss also knows his Manchester City reign will be judged on trophies as a season-defining week begins.
The Etihad chief faces three key matches across three competitions inside eight days.
And although his City team are starting to adapt to his style, he knows ultimately it will all boil down to silverware.
Guardiola still has to live with the fact his spell at Bayern Munich is remembered as a ‘disaster’ because he failed to win the Champions League.
And his bid to mark his first season in charge of City with a trophy could be over if this week does not go well.
Saturday City go to Middlesbrough for their FA Cup quarter-final.
Then they face the second leg of their European clash with Monaco before the visit of Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
